That is: context, environment, space. A term that carries a naturalistic connotation, yes, but also social and cultural — an interweaving of relationships, layers, and shared experiences.

Spazio Milieu is a creative workshop founded on May 11, 2024, in the heart of the city of Carrara, established by Noemi Talamona, Sofia Figliè, and Carlotta Cardillo.

It was born as a workspace, but immediately became a meeting point for artists, illustrators, photographers, art enthusiasts, and curious people.
We work in illustration, painting, printmaking, and photography, and deeply believe in the cross-pollination between different artistic languages and practices. Interaction and collaboration are, for us, the beating heart of creativity.

In our studio, every day is dedicated to experimentation, research, personal projects, and the sharing of knowledge.
During this first year of activity, we organized events such as Sketch and Wine, in collaboration with bars and venues in the provinces of Massa Carrara and La Spezia; an artistic nude drawing course; and several workshops, including one on illustration on ceramics and another on linoleum printmaking.

Spazio Milieu is our way of contributing to the city’s cultural life: an open, dynamic place to meet, draw, discuss, learn, and imagine together.

At the core of all our activities lies the desire to rediscover — and help others rediscover — the joy of drawing for its own sake, free from performative dynamics.
Drawing simply for the pleasure of doing it, to rejoice, alone and in community.
