The Laboratorio Menconi is a former marble souvenir and object shop located just above the "Iron Bridge," which was once used by the "Marble Railway," the railway that transported marble blocks from the quarries to the sea. Currently, it provides workstations for sculptors and artists who mostly work in an artisanal manner, meaning without the use of industrial machinery. Therefore, the characteristic that best distinguishes the laboratory is its familiarity and deep connection with the tradition of ancient marble carvers.
