James Harris

James Harris was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1982 to British parents. A few months later, he moved with his family to Tuscany, where he grew up and received his education. From 2004 to 2010, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, enriching his academic path with a study period in Japan. In 2011, he earned his Master’s Degree in Sculpture.

Over the years, he has taken part in numerous exhibitions, sculpture symposia, and artistic initiatives. Following early experiences with GUM Studio, the project room at Cripta 747 in Turin, and the “Real Presence” residency in Belgrade in 2010, he participated in Forme nel Verde in Radicofani and TU35 – Geographies of Emerging Art in Tuscany at the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato. One of his monumental works is currently installed in Syracuse as part of Parc01 – Binario Contemporaneo, curated by Marco Pierini.

He currently lives and works primarily in Carrara.
