Sculpture
Filippo Tincolini is an Italian artist who works in the field of sculpture. Born in 1976 in Pontedera, Tuscany, after spending time in Pietrasanta at numerous foundries and marble workshops, he studied Sculpture at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts. In 2001, upon completing his studies, he opened his own workshop in Fantiscritti, at the foot of the quarries, where he continues to create his works today. The territory of Carrara, the city where the artist lives and works, has had a profound impact on his sculptural research, expressed primarily through his preferred material of white marble, used and worked in an experimental manner. Tincolini's poetics have always been oriented towards bringing into harmonious coexistence worlds that are far apart: high craftsmanship and hi-tech, tradition and visionary spirit, the canons of classical sculpture and pop influences, mythology and comics. He is currently represented by private galleries and continues his exhibiting activity in both public and private spaces. He is frequently invited to take part in international gatherings on the subject of sculptural language and the use of robotics applied to the world of art.
